Build two timelines that can separate
The household-goods schedule uses pickup and delivery windows. The family schedule needs confirmed lodging, meals, breaks, and arrival access. Do not assume the truck and family will reach the destination together.

Plan pet travel as its own move
Confirm veterinary records, identification, medications, carrier fit, lodging rules, and destination restrictions. Practice the travel setup before move week when possible. Keep food and water familiar rather than changing brands during transit.
Pets should stay secured away from open doors and moving equipment on load and delivery days. At the destination, start with one quiet room containing familiar bedding, water, food, and litter or walking supplies.
Design the first week before leaving
